the wait is over...finally...

thanks for showing so much interest and curiosity...for whats going to happen at Straight Points... as i told you this idea was spinning in my mind for quite a while and must say here that inspiration came from none other than my friend and fellow blogger soulberry of TCWJ...when one fine moment we were discussing about indian culture and how he makes it a point to promote it through various mediums in whatever capacity he can...

his latest post on 'i am proud to belong to the third world' is the case in point...its as much about india as it is about cricket...thanks soulberry for enlightening and inspiring at least one soul...

now without taking much space...let me introduce you to the new entrant of blog world...

...and here is what he has to say...

I'm floored. How did you do it Pankaj? And welcome Sanjay Awasthi.

I agree with you, Indians are lucky that they can, if they wish to, speak in over 3000 languages. Even the mainstream ones would number a significant figure. And mind you, they include Englaish which is now very much a part of the nation.

How did you do it?

Unicode? That must have been laborious... Enjoyed.

thank you very much SB!! yes it was an effort worth taking it...

the blogger provides the option at setting > basic to enable translation from english to hindi or any regional language of your choice...

if you enable it then the text editor shows the icon of selected language and then you have to write the word in the required sound

e.g. mein bhi hindi main likhna chahata hoon...

and it will convert it into exact hindi...taking the sound form of word you type...

cool isn't it...?

Soulberry said...

Oh Ok...it goes my vowels. The word is split around a vowel while leaving whitespace as it is.

But I tell you this is fabulous and unexpected :)

Let me check that out...will save a lot of headache for short pieces in future. I got lost in that Unicode business for a four line stanza!

namaste awasthi ji aur aapka blogosphere mein hardik swagat hai.

SP,

Congrats for being a man!!

hardik dhanyawad tri...

without being modest...to be honest...i would say that there is nothing manly about this...its like awakening to reality that we do have many untapped audience who wanted their voice being expressed on blog too...and what better then cricket to connect them the blogsphere...

thanks to SB for making me realize this very evident truth...

will mail you the procedure kinka...

Wow... this is a first all right!

one complaint though... you might have to increase the font-size of hindi text... tough to read for the slow ones like me :)

Anonymous said...

Pankaj I can read and write Urdu but can't read and write Hindi, I am sure Q will have the same problem,
Either write your post in English and Hindi or else we will have to use Google translator which is sometimes not so correct and also takes some extra work.

Anonymous said...

I am really slow reader as well. Perhaps you can try a larger font, or an option to read it in English :)

straight point said...

thanks scorpy!

i dont know if it first elsewhere but here at straight point it certainly is :)
