its crystal by now that selectors will not pick 'rest' but 'india' as rest of india squad for the irani trophy...
virtually everybody seems happy that all of our stars will be playing a domestic tournament after a while...its best preparation for the upcoming oz series...
we will see them rubbing the shoulders with some wanna bees...etc etc...
i cant see this happening and that's why the title of the post...
this chai is going too irani...for me...
let me explain...
every nation arranges domestic games under different names but with sole purpose of streamlining the feed system to the national team...we get to see the metal of players who eye these tournaments with the purpose of staking their claims...
irani tropy...correct me if i am wrong...is held for this very purpose of seeing top domestic players competing with each other and there by presenting selectors opportunity to see and gauge the potential...
thats why we get to see the winner of ranji tropy playing rest of india...in the name of irani trophy...
rest of india is key word here...
are we really seeing rest of india...competing with winner of ranji trophy champion here...
what new facts/things we are gonna unearth by stuffing RoI with national players that we don't know already?
what about those deserving players who performed good enough for entire season and were looking forward to this opportunity...but have to sit out now....for no fault of theirs...?
its like defeating the very purpose you organize a tournament...
i can understand about players getting hit out there who were injured (like sachin) but playing virtually your national team in disguise of RoI is taking things too far...
you know what you have to do...am waiting...

Have they announced the ROI of India team?
I had expressed my doubts over at Buzz's blog. He too was saying that the ROI team will be loaded with the fab-four,AK and MSD.
If so then it is ridiculous.
OTT although they have not announced but going by things, it will be mere formality...
SP - it's basically a net for the test team. and a blockade of any new prospects.
like to see them go down to delhi. some good amusement if nothing else.

so the test squad is upp there in irani tirophy....
Homer, Mumbai now isnt the same powerhouse of indian cricket as before.
barring Tendulkar there is nobody who can lift the flag high for MCA who can say i m good to play for India.
Rohit Sharma seems to be distracted by the fame and gold of the IPL and jaffer is a past by sell date....
