Who is making plans...

for KKR i.e.

its been a while i am saying that KKR are eventally leaving it too late to put paddle on accelerator...they once got away with bash-us DCs...and later suicidal 3Ds...

now that they have lost two matches on trot...will someone stuff in their brain that this is not going to work for them or rather not working for them...

what they really need is a dasher or two at top to give innings an impetuous...but match after match they are repeating same mistake...

who is to be blamed...

the self proclaimed master of all strategies...john buchanan?

did he got lucky with oz team full of class players? or his role in oz team was overrated as warne have been saying for a while...

i don't know...

but someone at the top has left his brain at home for sure...

i think their plans were awry right from the time the team selection was made. of course they were unlucky in losing chris gayle - one cannot deny that. but they never took into account that once mccullum left the batting would be too weak. also maybe they put too much faith in hussey.

I concur with Gaurav. They don't have suitable replacements for the foreign players.Plus Ishant has faded and Akthar is upto his usual tricks.

garav...

here comes the leadership issue...

warne came with asnodkar...as surprise weapon...coz he was willing to take gamble...what John, GG and co. came up with?

OTT i agree with you on shoaib tricks...

but give Ishant & co. a competitive total and then see...

Gaurav & OTT

brenden's example is again tactical failure of teams selection think tank...didnt they knew it in advance that he will not be there with them for long?

Gaurav how can u say that when a team picks up Ponting, David Hussey, Gayle, McCullum, Akhtar, Butt, Gul?

Ponting didn't fire, Hodge didn't fire, Gayle got injured, McCullum left, Butt fired only last few games.

They've been hard done by.

It wasnt that they put too much faith in David Hussey. The thing is that when Hussey plays for Victoria he comes to bat at 4 or 5 when a solid platform has been set by he top order. How much can he do when he walks in at 20-3.

He is by far their top scorer.

KKR have chopped and changed too much. Ganguly should have stayed on as opener even if he wasnt firing.

Saha did well in one of the matches, why didnt they continue with him?

exactly Q...

the top order is putting too much pressure on middle order to up the tempo...while they can get away with it on rare occasions they can succeed consistently with this problem...

and dont get fooled by sourav's 90 odd against DCs...he too have failed to hit big for KKR...

They never tested their local player bench strength... heard from otts' blog that they packed bose and many of the local lads home... so eventually when stars leave or not perform, it is left to late to test your bench strength.

Logically, their star players are not doing well at all.

I agree with Q here. SRK n Ganguly had got a good team. Also they included probably the world's best coach. How could anyone expect such a team to fail?

n BTW SP, u changed too.. Nice one!!!!

KKR was all in the mind and the media. DC is many ways, is a poor man's KKR.

They have tried too many things. Ishant has proved to be a better bowler in test matches abroad. The dressing room being a flight terminal must be distracting as well. Then there's Shah Rukh...

But they are not out of it and look good for a semis spot. Better chance than Delhi at least.

Its not only their batting, look at Ishaant Sharma's figures in 11 matches he has taken only 6 wickets and his econ rate is 7.6 he has failed to make any impact,

KKR's chances got hurt when Gayle got injured I think they planned the depth properly but are really unlucky but I do agree that Ganguly has failed to use his local guys.

He needs to tell Butt that he is playing a domestic game in front of selectors and then see what he will do.

He has played Hafeez as a batsman,if he is included in the side he should be used as a bowler,in 7 matches he has bowled only 10 overs at an econ of 6.8 he can keep the runs down his batting is pathetic, you can't play him as a batsman.

I don't think Buchanon should be blamed if the players can't perform according to his plans.

I sense SRK is masterminding the strategy and that's the root of all disease. Being an actor, he's taking a filmy view of T20 (Both 3 hr entertainment after all). He's planning to tie the tangles till the interval, when two-third of the proceedings is already over, to pave way for the hero's entry to set things right and here they are having problem. KKR does not have heroes to live upto the script. SRK should have done it other way round, pen the script around the actors and not ask the actors to fit into the script.

its been a very long season for young ishant...i fear that he will break down anytime...

in the haze of IPL we must not ignore the real matter which is keeping strike bowler like ishant fresh for national call...

what about if plans are faulted at first place...like you said playing hafeez as batsman?
