to cheer and congratulate gautam who is looking gambhir (serious) to crack open one available spot at top of india test team...

infact delhi dare devils (3Ds) should bow to him that despite sehwag captaining them 'brilliantly' they can still dream a place for semifinals!!

his consistency of late is remarkable for a guy who was susceptible to moving ball...that too for an opener he is...but he seems to have worked very hard on his technique without loosing out an iota of his flamboyance...

his feet are moving nicely, surely but positively...

it doesn't harm him any bit that he is one of the best (if not best) player of spin today...

another remarkable difference is...now he seems to carry on the start he was guilty of throwing away in past...

lessons learnt hard way but learnt anyway...

i think jaffer is going to be first casualty of IPL...with GG being the beneficiary...

not by default though...but for knocking at the door till its wide and invitingly open...

thanks Q for the hint

He definitely deserves to be India's opener in all forms of the game.

What a batsman!

yes Q...in all forms...

since srt only likes opening in ODIs i wonder how sehwag will take it...

Gambhir is miles a head in the shorter version of the game he should be given an extended run.

He's definitely an exciting option and he has proved himself as well. But I'm not going to colour my opinion with IPL performance, for sure.

What's wrong with waiting out a couple of ODI series' more before it is givento him?
Even I am losing patience with Jaffer, but a colossus of the domestic game shoul be given more chances, IMO.

I feel Gambhir should become a regular now in the Indian team. He has been performing consistently well in all the matches in IPL. He had also performed well down under. I guess he deserves a place now..

Gng by the adhoc test-odi selection nexus, the trend will extend to GG. I'm pleasantly surprised by the guy's form.

go back to a GC's take on GG, how he withdraws into his shell, and needs to be backed. With Sehwag in DDD the backing's not been a problem. By the end of IPL, GG might even warrant being called GGji. test cricket, why not?
But i read you Som.
And he is from Delhi. And Jaffer isn't.
Think they missed a trick with Uthappa when he was in cracking form, shouldn't with GG.

thats true som! but its not the highest score but the manner in which he is scoring makes his case strong...

the guy never looked liked getting out...

straight point said...

no problem with that john...

my only point is that why not hand him over when he is at his best of form and confidence?

straight point said...

exactly tri!!

thats it NC!!

its not about his scoring in IPL...i want him to be gven chance, like others, when he is at his best form and confidence wise...

You can't keep a good man down and Gambo is straightening out into a gentleman. I guess he has learnt it is pointless flirting always...outside the off stump of course!

straight point said...

yes SB! if only flirting is as good in cricket... ;-)
