thats what ganguly did when he showed his true colors again in yesterday's match between MIs and KKRs...
by the time more than half the KKR team was back in dug out...he just played around 10 balls...
End of over 11 (2 runs) - Kolkata Knight Riders 46/6 (RR: 4.18)
AB Agarkar
10* (9b 2x4)
DJ Thornely
1-0-2-0
SC Ganguly
8* (12b 1x4)
RR Raje
1-0-9-1
he came in 3rd over...at the fall of 1st kkr wicket...and by the time 6the wicket went down in 10th over he merely played 10 balls!!
now thats something strangely interesting...
with wicket was seaming and swinging he should have taken it on himself to lead from front and play as much deliveries as possible to utilize the vast experience he has earned playing international cricket since ages...
what we saw was totally opposite...
he seemed happy to stay on non striker end...
but then...its ganguly for you...

sp, but he did play, didn't he? and nagpur isn't that far from mumbai, is it? his mind must have travelled.
For once I disagree SP.. Ganguly couldnt help being at the non strikers end as his partners kept playing and missing... And when he did get the strike he rotated it but the others couldn't do the same..
I agree with Q,Ganguly did tried his best but the wickets kept crumbling on the other end, there was not much he could do.
He is not the type of player who will go hiding in times of adversity. He is a fiesty character.
Hi SP I have included your blog in my blog roll at www.cricketfiles.com can you do the same for my blog.
I agree with Q and Wasim..Cant blame him for the lack of strike. It was not like he was taking a single off the first ball and letting his partner face the music.
Cheers
Ganguli has never been a good runner between the wickets. So u cannot expect him to learn that at this age. Otherwise he did rotate the strike against MI. The only problem he had was he didnt have any support.
I tend to agree with Q, Wasim and Homer.
And not because I have a soft spot for Dada! :)
Can't do much if your mates are flirting with danger themselves un-ably and are not inclined to let you have a go instead. You can just watch.
But there is a point in what you say..he could have comandeered the strike the moment he had it.
NC
he was playing for a franchisee...i bet if he would have played if it was normal international match...
Thanks and welcome Wasim!!
you are blogrolled!
hmmm...the verdict seems unanimous here...
but just a thoght...
isnt the very logic in his support should work against him?
after say 2/3 wickets he should have gauged the situation and arrested the slump by taking initiative...
something like strike farming...
bang on... thats ganguly which many have complained about... no longer has real balls. When the pitches are flat, he promptly opens and when it is dangerous like that famed first match or swinging, he drops back.
exactly scorpy... just wanted to highlight this aspect of GG...
