Dreams do realise...

shared by straight point on Friday, May 16, 2008

they both were in the oblivion of anonymity...well...at least one of them for sure...

one has tasted success earlier and then went in to darkness of gloom...as if that success was a dream he never lived...

other kept doing what he can do best but didn't had the 'charm' to attract attention of almighty selectors...

they both worked hard...kept faith in their abilities...kept their focus on game...kept the negative chants away from their ears...while working on their respective skills...

god smiled on them eventually...

presented (or created?) an opportunity in the form of IPL...

and then hattricks happened...

yes guys, i am taking about Balaji and Amit Mishra...

is it just a coincidence...that this happened to both of them...or they both were chosen with purpose...

that they created history within the space of few days...and wont be...or rather can not be... discarded to anonymity now...

goes to show that if you want something badly...resolutely...even mother nature devise a way to fulfill you wish...

another chapter in the very short history of IPL where dreams got realized...

They both bowled smartly, which got them the wickets.

Do u see Balaji coming back to the team with Sreesanth, Pathan, RP, Zak, Munaf, VRV in line? And possibly Nehra as well..

Mishra vs Chawla... could be interesting times for India.

This IPL is surely doing wonders for their bench strength as I pointed out in my post.

Balaji is actually not match fit even for a domestic match... he may have to take a year or so more to truly get back... he has openly acknowledged that... the shorter format of the IPL was to help him test out how his back is doing.

Of course, am dead happy for both.

As Q pointed out, its good to see such a good bench strength for India. It will also allow the bowlers to rest as they will be rotated. Hope to see them fitter now.

Q

suddenly we are flushed with riches of talent specially in pace bowling which has always been our bane...

so in that sense i am happy...

yes scorpy...he himself admitted it...but i bet you will be happy to have a start of rehabilitation like this with hat trick...

yup tri...the crux of matter is if they remain fit...

and what a coincidence, they're both excellent slow bowlers.

Thats true SP.. we always used to say that here in Pakistan we've got the fast bowlers while India has the batsmen... today India has both and we have none.

Q I beg to differ Pakistan still has bowlers, Sohail Tanvir has taken 11 wickets from just six matches, while the top wicket taker in IPL is Warne with 14 from 10 matches a difference of only three wickets but if Tanvir or Akhtar had played 10 matches they would certainly be topping the charts.

Mohammed Aamir, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Khan are good finds. We do have a bench stregth and there was news that Akram is holding a pace camp at the end of this month, last year he found Sohail Tanvir god knows who comes out this year.

I was impressed by Nehra and Misra,
VRV singh is OK for this format he reminds me of Azhar Mahmood.
But India's real find is Dhawan.

Pakistan's batting wows will continue untill we get rid of the culture created by Inzi, the seniors keep on making to the national team and the Young players are being neglected and mishandled infact their careers are being destroyed.

Wasim, the names u mention are all bright prospects - Tanvir, Sohail Khan, Wahab, even Asif and Gul but none of them hav yet started winning matches for Pakistan.

Asif has and Gul has a few but oth have been out with injury for way too long.

Misraji will again be ignored. You see SP, T20 hat-tricks are lightweight. Arun lal didn't even remember Misraji's name correctly...He got about as close as "Sharma" and BCCI is more distant from Delhi than he!

Don't know about Balaji yet.

Wasim yes and no...

yes coz pak do have quality pace bowlers no doubts about it...

no coz as q said, they have not started winning matched yet...injry problems and management of pace bowlere or for that matter entire team is in doldrums and hence the poor showing...somehow when pak plays, they just dont look like team with common mission...
