Delhi own devils...

or what you would call it...

i thought somebody told 3d bats that they had to score 130 odd runs in 15 over itself...otherwise what could be the explanation of shots they all played?

best moment that sums up the situation came when Dhawan played ball back to dinda who throwed the ball back to him and there were some heated glances exchanged...dilshan sensing the mood of dhwan went up to him to calm him down and play according to the situation...but what happened next ball? he just swayed his bat across the line and got bowled...

mindless...like they all were...

i discussed with good friend Soulberry that KKR are leaving it too late to up the tempo and got away with DC the other day...and 3ds have to hit hard at this strategy of theirs...they did exactly the same and restricted KKR to almost walk away total...

perhaps then they decided to make the match more interesting and chase down the total in 15 overs itself...

but whatta come back by Shoaib!!

i think this T20 format will suit him more than anything coz he just have to bowl 4 overs of full throttle...and he did exactly the same...

but at the same time, more than his pace or accuracies of bowls...i think 3ds got intimidated by his presence and tried to out bowl him and thats where they lost the match...by playing some inexplicable shots...

which brings me down to the question which i wanted to ask for long but i think this is the best moment...

how can a captain rap his batters to play rash stroke or preferring their 'natural' play over team demand...when he repeatedly does the same?

i think in the answer of this is hidden the solution of 3ds problem...

what say?

PS: Was it only me who noticed that the captain who was looking to win the match appeared far more tensed than the captain who was loosing it...? infact sehwag was smiling like they were cruising to victory...

I think over-reliance on top 3 is the team's bane. Sad, they let McGrath & Co down

i could see GM fuming sitting in dugout...

That smile may haunt Sehwag for ever.

It seems they were not hungry for the win, Delhi knows they can make a comeback.
But I agree with you they should have won this match.

haha ... after the mumbai win today, delhi will be feeling the heat. if they slip up against the chargers tomorrow, they will REALLY be up against it. let us see if sehwag smiles then.

yah SP, own devils alright. though for the team they're silly, childish almost cartoonlike devils -no wonder Sehwag's smiling. tho i won't grudge him that, he can't change who he is, and he typifies it's just a game, in a weird sort of way. The team takes its cue from him.

However, only the 2 Lankans, McGrath and Mishra had any intensity. The others came for a net, got caught in a web.

SP, I saw the highlights package the next morning. One cannot get the same sense of outrage from text commentary. 3D played with the proverbial "gobar" in their heads instead of brains.

When 3D played with a plan...in which Gambo was always a key element...they won.

Now they are quick to rise to a misleading challenge rather than let everything else pass and focuss on winning the game.

It doesn't matter if you do it less glamorously as long as you win the game.

Gambo too fell to impatience after a few tight overs.

So what can one expect today?

Sehwag is being troubled by the leg-side line all teams have adopted. They have cut out width and he is struggling.

I was coming via Kotla today from the north side of Delhi...was tempted to stop and pick up ticks but I let it go. It isn't worth it if they continue to play without a bit of common sense.
Wouldn't be surprised if Gilly and Rohit make mincemeat of Delhi and RP Singh does the rest.

exactly SB!!

they have 'gober' in their mind...

the only silver line i find in 3d gloom is that their defeats were self inflicting rather than opposition winning...

i guess last defeat would have cleared any 'gober' which was left in thier mind and they will focus on winning rather than murdering opposition...

Great choice of a song Som. Truly apt.

Sehwag has been smiling throughout the IPL. It wasnt only in this match but also against other opposition when they lost he had the smile on his face.

I dont think theres anything wrong. He enjoys his cricket and doesnt get too tense abt it. ITs good.

It doesnt mean that the losses dont disappoint him or he takes it too light heartedly... its just him.

May be you are right Q...

and his happy go merry attitude is dangerously spreading amongst his team mates...

as i said everybody except delhiites looked serious (not in literally term) to win for 3d...

overconfidence did them in... it was apparent they underestimated shoaib from his presentation ceremony talk.

Also Mumbai winning their match yesterday, I think Delhi are now really going to have a hard time.
