life...business...cricket...

...or shall i say...test cricket...

there comes a cycle in business...

when a certain type of business booms everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon to cash in...to make quick bucks...sometimes even at the cost of existing business...

but once the bubble bursts...it leaves only those players who are in it to not only make money but create values...business does repeat this cycle of elimination when it needs to...

so does life and so will cricket...

cut to the apparent threat...test cricket faces from new born baby-with-a-silver-spoon...t20 cricket...

while not denying that cricket has ultimately discovered the wings to expand world over...i am not overtly worried about the future of test cricket...

test cricket will be played...more intensely by few nations...few teams...which will have not only capable but willing players...we must continue to maintain the balance, focus and parameters like pitches right...

coz just like every player cannot play test cricket...every player cannot play t20 either...

who wants reluctant players...in life...in business...and in cricket...

its time for team huddle...

there has been a collapse of the top order...

reasons are not hard to find...

some coz the opposition was really well prepared...had nothing to loose...
some coz of careless batting when more cautious approach was the requirement of the team...

but there has been a collapse...no question about it...

time to take deep breath...time to take stock of things...

we can still claw ourselves back into this 'test' match...

time to play straight...time to play positively...
we must back our abilities...we must back our skills...

we can't let opposition team dictate terms...

we require batsmen who can do the dirty job of holding the forte at one end...
and on another end aggressor to balance out things...

we need partnerships...need everybody to chip in...be it batsmen...be it bowler...

everybody must put prize on his 'wicket'...

don't leave the job on hand for other...aim to finish it on your own...and in doing so if you loose your 'wicket'...be prepared for it...

from now on...every single run scored will count...

every single run scored will ease pressure...will create pressure...(for other team)...

every single run scored will build a platform which will bring us back into this 'test' match...

we need to be greedy...we need to be selfish at times...

and when opportunity presents itself...do not afraid to send balls beyond boundaries...

one ball at a time...one over at a time...one session at a time...

we have to believe...this can be done...

we have to remember...we have done it before...

when everybody thought we were but dead and buried in that match...
when nobody gave us a chance...

then we did kolkatta...

its time to do another kolkatta...

its time to show the world...we can do it again...

yes...we can do it...

let the ball rolling...let the game begin...
