as clean as a whistle...

shared by straight point on Wednesday, March 03, 2010

sorry to those who noticed... i was busy and could not update blog... and this will continue for a while...

but i could not held myself back on what happened today in first odi between australia vs new zealand...

i happen to catch last few overs live on set max and saw mithchell johnson almost stepped on scott styris when later stuck him for two consecutive boundaries... before that johnson was cleary seen pointing a finger on his head as an indicator to styris what he was upto... it was only a timely intervention from haddin, who literally pulled johnson away from the scene, which prevented the circumstances from getting worse...

i immediately checked at cricinfo's commentary... but the holy cows at cricinfo, almost dutifully, not only ignored the incident... but acted as if the match was played in the most humble conditions...

here is the account of that over...

45.1
Johnson to Styris, 1 run, full from Johnson and Styris heaves it through the leg side for a single to deep square leg

45.2
Johnson to Southee, no run, 146 kph, this one is short and quick and takes Southee on the right bicep and falls into the off side. Well done from the young man as he shows no pain

45.3
Johnson to Southee, 1 run, good length and Southee plays forward and edges to third man

45.4
Johnson to Styris, no run, short ball and Styris tries to pull but gets it off the edge into his front pad

45.5
Johnson to Styris, FOUR, 147 kph, bumper from Johnson with mid on and mif off up inside the circle and Styris pulls through wide mid on for four, good stroke

45.6
Johnson to Styris, FOUR, 147 kph, Styris sits back and pulls/heaves over mid wicket for four as Harris can't run it down from mid on

see... nothing happened... as if that was a routine over...

now see this video... of mitchell johnson and scott styris clash...

and also this pic... though not from the same match... but from the same tour...

the similarities are...

both times australia were under pressure...
both times batsman had the better of bowler in picture...
both times the match referee was ranjan madugalle...

but can you spot the difference...?

ok let me help you out...

if only the bowler's name was shanthakumaran sreesanth...

i bet... neither the match referee nor the holy cows at cricinfo would have missed the incident...

haddin does it again...

Replays show that Haddin brought his gloves in front yet again of the first ball of the previous over. No-ball should have been given but it wasn't*
* quoted from cricinfo

...and this is when it happened...

30.1 Clarke to Elliott, no run, short outside the off stump, Elliot looks to cut it away and is beaten

luckily...no one got out...just beaten...

irrespective of whether he does it deliberately or unknowingly i am surprised how he is getting away with this crap...if the commentators who are sitting so far can see it why the heck umpire standing at square leg can't spot it...

i think the most compelling reason that can be given to introduce full technology into making decisions is coz of these dickheads officiating matches...

..and then we recently saw to utter disbelief that even third umpire (another dickhead darryl harper) gave batsman out caught behind when there was daylight between bat and ball...

sometimes i suspect foul play...i feel umps are doing it deliberately to show us the futility of technology...or what can explain these types of blatantly obvious mistakes even after seeing replays?!

now this is the conundrum coz if we won't allow technology or allow it these retards will keep on making it look stupid both ways...

the blogger feel these 'gentlemen' should be thrown to nearest ocean or dug deep in nearest graveyard...

or is there better solution...?

beware ozies...

shared by straight point on Monday, February 02, 2009

haddin and punter are reacting exactly the way we all expect them to react to…there is nothing new this time too...these thick head 'gentlemen' are representing exactly the type of cricket oz are playing these days…

mindless…shortsighted…no respect towards the game which has given them everything they stand to enjoy in life today…

while they will keep on doing their usual stuff…more disturbing fact about this incident is the silence of cricket australia over the issue even after so much time has elapsed…making me think are they really worried of what image oz cricket is getting portrayed around world…

no game or team can survive if it loses its follower's respect and so is oz team which is not only losing respect of fans rapidly but also of the players who play against them…

so beware cricket australia…of what legacy you and your team will be leaving for new generations to come…for don’t blame them when they would come in team with misplaced notions that stretching the laws to limit or disrespecting game is the ‘in thing’…and you can get away with anything in the name of playing to win…

the decision is yours…

as they say...

integrity is doing the right thing, even if nobody is watching...
