(English readers please...)
according to him throughout his career he found ganguly neither a good batsman nor a great captain...infact he has given space to ganguly in his book as an afterthought...
shane warne is legend...and has proven his ability through his magical and mesmerising spin bowling...but he should have given it a careful thought before pointing finger on ganguly that whether the criticism is right?
shane warne's argument that even if ganguly was successful bcoz he was lucky to have champion players like sachin, dravid, lakshman, kumble...is 'unique' in itself...
brilliant shane...do you mean to say that all captain who has been successful were/are successful coz of their own efforts only?
now if we take the example of your own captain steve waugh...he was successful captain, as many believe, then even he had great players like hayden, ponting, macgrath, including yourself...if not for the assembly of so many great players in one team then waugh would have been as successful? oz still would have been world champion?
i think india's consistent team performance and our equally consistent challenge to your team has frustrated you to come up with this unsuccessful attempt to dismiss ganguly's contribution as player and most importantly as captain...
what do you think?

though i am not sure shane rate waugh highly but your point about captaincy is well taken...
whether shane accepts it or not...ganguly's captaincy and how he transformed us to one aggressive unit is well documented...
We dont hv to rely on Warney s wisdom to rate Dada!! for us he s the BEST!!
no guesses what dada say abt warne in his book
Thanks.
Exactly PAN, shane's comments can't change the history.
Agree with you, SAM
yes NC, lets wait...
infact he will have to say a lot about his oz buddies...NC...
i can already see that is going to be one hell of a book...
All of this doesn't matter... the fact that should matter for us is that Ganguly pissed them off every time and got us going. LOL
I agree with SP, Ganguly's acumen is a well documented fact.
Now if one comes on to criticize something, he can find one thing or the other.
We can also ask Warne, if he sees so much virtue in him, to point fault at others; how come he never got Australia's captaincy. Not being in good terms is one thing; but spitting venom all the time is another.
i think, it's his complex, that compels him target Ganguly all the time; which may be arising out of the pain, he suffered for not getting the skipper cap. Whatever be the reasons.
dear Scorpicity, to me also Ganguli's performance against Oz may be one of the causes of shane's ''frustration''....

A great holiday gift for your cricket fan.
LOL scorpy... :)
AB...very well said...
the only thing which is still hurting shane is the captaincy...and the frustration is definitely showing up...
Dear AB,
Totally agree with you.
Warn 'played' much out side than the cricket ground. From his statement it shows, he don't know how to respect the others or high profile guys...that is why he tried to fire on ganguli, falsly.....
Who cares what Warne says its not set in stone. That list is completely bogus.
yes wasim filled with prejudices...
thanks wasim bhai,
good point.
