umesh yadav...

this is what i tweeted after watching his performances in ipl... even before the powers that be started talking about him...

umesh yadav... we will soon see this lad donning blue...
3:27 PM Mar 30th via TweetDeck

and here he is... catching a flight to caribbean... in place of an injured praveen kumar... to realise his dream to play for india... and once again ipl - the dream merchant is the reason...

umesh yadav impressed with his raw pace but came across as the one who is prone to spray the ball in excitement... but as ipl progressed he showed that he has the ability to learn quickly... he not only started varying his pace but length too to good results for delhi daredevils, the team he plays for in ipl...

yadav has it in him to bowl as good a toe crushing yorker as one can see and has the pace to surprise with a sharp short pitch ball... a good weapon to unleash on opponent... it's time some one from india gives back the 'chin music' with due interest...

to those who don't know much about him... here's this wonderful story about him... the son of a coalmine worker answers india's need for speed in caribbean...

“I have just collected my tickets from the Vidarbha cricket office, it still hasn’t sunk in. My parents are very excited but nervous as well. They are village people and have very little idea of the world outside. All my father asked was ‘When will you return home?’,” Yadav told The Indian Express after getting the most important call of his short cricketing career.

the dream of one more dreamer is about to realise...

Good call SP. Still amazing how DD continued to prefer Sangwan to Yadav, that for me was the limit. Sangwan should stick to p3 parties, from the first season, that kid has continued to lose it.

Earliest Yadav can play is on Sunday, so at least 2 super 8 games, plus what lies ahead.

yes NC... if there was award of most stupid team despite its riches DD will win it hands down...

if the guy is that impressive that gambhir, nehra and eric simmons and of course sehwag talk about him... who is considered for t20 wc without even being in probables could not play dd consistently...

this is where i wonder who used to take calls on selection for DD...?

i hope they will take him seriously now and won't let him go in upcoming auction... coz some daft reasons...

He looked like a very good prospect but needs to play couple more years of domestic cricket.

India have given chances to too many young quick bowlers and they have lost their way. At the age of about 20 young bowlers should play domestic cricket as they can develop their action and can't put too much stress on their body.

on the contrary i think too much coaching in initial years and wilderness in domestic games can derail a good pace bowling prospect...

unlike batsmen who needed to hone skill to develop game to play long innings... pace bowlers can be used in burst of four-five overs...

yadav will have more chances of developing into good bowler when he will confront best in business...

SP, man the mood I am in currently makes me look negatively and ask - "how long before all of this touches him?"

We have seen so many humble, small town chaps with pace come and go or settle for mediocre longevity.

But good lick to him and hope he plays for pride always like Sachin.

You spotted him all right...kudos!

i know sb the trend is there for all of us to see... but an optimist in me says... if i am allowed to say so... why make one pay for the sins of others?

just coz other bowlers have come and settled... why we should not give chance to players like yadav...?

right now he is budding with energy... there is chance that even one or two years in domestic structure might make him look for longevity in wait for a call for india cap... isn't it...?
