take it easy sachin redux...

i know you take it to the level of obsession when you are captain...

so rather than i coming hard at you at times... the truth is... it is not as hard as you are on yourself...

mumbai indians are more or less in the semifinals... and so are delhi daredevils...

you won the battle last time but the war is far from over...

however much i would cherish delhi defeating mumbai in your own den... it will not be same without you...

so till then... take care... take it easy...

The man is quite something else. This guys doesn't play only for the money...he is a warrior and the scent of a challenge turns him on. Chennai has done bad things to cricketers - remember Dean Jones being sick on the ground due to the heat and humidity?

yes i remember that sb... but apart from the chennai heat... i think the schedule of non-stop cricket did him...

it did not help also that mumbai indians were traveling from their home after a long time... :)

I don't think that it was the travel or the weather that did him in... Chennai and Mumbai have virtually the same weather conditions at this time of the year...

Like straight point said, it's the excess of cricket... and he's been a part of every bit of it... He's been batting for long hours on the field, captaining a squad and has been doing this continuously for quite some time now...

Will you care to listen, Lalit Modi?

SP, ask ST to take it easy. He is so full of intensity even in inconsequential matches that he might run out of gas by the time knockout stage arrives.

indeed som... i too want him to be fresh and fit... and that's why i asked him to take it easy...

shri... i agree with you on most part but blaming it on modi... everyone was under no illusion about the schedule and how long the tournament is... and if any player wants it onto himself to play every inconsequential game than no one can do anything about it...

@Shridharjaju and @straightpoint_____

A week ago one of the panelist at NDTV's debate programme, was also saying that BCCI should bar players from playing inconsequential matches. But just like what you people are discussing here, I agree with you people that it's a difficult situation to be in. How will the controlling body regulate players when the entire arrangement derives money from sponsors and spectators.

anil...

which player should play on which match is non of governing body business... so i think it was plain stupid question from NDTV in first place...

can you imagine world cup body issuing statement that so and so player can not play in so and so match coz that is inconsequential... ?

@straightpoint_____Actually, the guy was saying since of the players have to fulfill their national duties too; And since a national cap holder is to be taken bets care of, hence the BCCI should make some assertive rules; so that the said players are fit for the national assignments.

I also found the notion very illogical.
