kudos to ipl organisers...

for paving the way for pakistan players to play in ipl...

even after virtual hate campaign led by pcb chairman ijaz butt against bcci and ipl organisers... and usual negative press about not allowing pakistan players to play much sought after ipl and champions league (clt20)... they did not let the criticism deter them...

they not only gave time to pcb to come up with noc from their foreign ministry but also extended the deadline from earlier november 20 to december 9 to give pakistan players every chance to participate in upcoming ipl season... now its upto pcb and relevant authorities to grant them permission...

ipl deserve every bit of praise for this magnanimous move... but as usual media, who is quick to pounce on any opportunity to malign and criticise ipl and its organisers, is keeping mum about it...

if they get time from wiping the egg on their face after spitting venom on papers and alike about how it were ipl organisers who effectively blocked paksitan players and their teams to particulate in ipl as well as champions league... will they render unconditional apology now...?

meanwhile... we welcome paksitan players and look forward to them playing on indian soil...

Yes, the strange thing was it was the pakistani board and government that denied their players from participating or more specifically play in India. The bad press was typical distraction tactics from the real problems.

Good to see the Pakistan board keen to resume ties with India. BTW, has the Indian government proclaimed any ban for them to play in India?

yes scorpy... the perspective is the last thing to expect from 'responsible' media these days...

as far as i go the ban is on bilateral ties and not for individual players to play on in ipl... or the organisers would have muted the move in initial stage itself...

I think the ban covers players too. Remember they did not play last year even though the IPL was played in South Africa.

probably Ottayan is right. It is really crazy why the players are being dragged in this mess. How are they responsible for 26/11?

The ones who are actually responsible are still roaming free.

ott... according to me they dint play in south africa for the same reason... first their foreign ministry din't gave them NOCs and once in ipl-2 it was decided that they won't play it was too late to change it for south africa...

indeed rishabh players are used as sacrificial goat by pcb as well as media to set agenda's right with ipl etc...

SP, that might be too much to expect from Pak honchos. Experience suggests that they'll continue to be what they are, how they are.

Meanwhile, one welcomes the Pakistani cricketer ' participation. I hope Umar Akmal and Aamer are in the mix somewhere. Excellent talents those two.

Bad mouthing and India bashing is part of the overall Pak policy versus India, and all people and organisations in Pak must conform it appears. However, PCB has not fallen for that in the past...at best they might have remained silent when the climate wasn't conducive. But things have changed a lot these days.

sb... i asked for apology not only from pcb but more importantly from lets-save-cricket-from-bcci media too... who are selling their agendas and prejudices in the name of cricket journalism...

yes they have some interesting talents coming up and if they are allowed to feature in ipl it will be a delight to watch the amalgamation of talent from world over... as i expect this season of ipl to be way tighter than previous ones coz of added motivation to feature in champions league...

This is good to see, and yes, kudos to the IPL organisers. I fear a few franchise owners are feeling a pain in their wallet as they eye those new Pakistani players though!
