...than the centuries on these roads that is prepared in the name of test cricket these days... on which any tom dick and harry can come with a bat in his hand and sleep walk to a test century...
test centuries can not come cheaper than this... so pardon me... but these days i value 100s in odis more coz though the pitches remain same... at least there is some added pressure to score/chase runs unlike tests...
so congratulation paul collingwood... you made my day yesterday...
though i would still settle for a three test series in which first two tests are played on batathons and then for the last test match they prepare a green mine field or a dust ball (according to 'home' advantage) to balance out things in favour of bowlers...
like batsmen... bowlers too have rights to be given tracks where they can run thru oppositions like hot knife in butter... specially after toiling endlessly on these roads... to boost their egos... and averages...
i value centuries in odis more...

SP - In recent memory Collingwood mostly made big scores when it mattered.
And yes watching MJ and PJ get multiple hundreds was not terribly exciting - but to an extend dint India invite it upon themselves. Defensive fields are not an option with batsmen with lot of patience and teams that arent looking to win.
That said, BCCI having seen that Aussie 08 Test series revived interest in the game to some extend - promptly schedules weekday tests in Motera etc - to undo the good effect of Test cricket.
hey SP, have featured you here:

look who's here... where you have been...?
yes collingwood has certainly grown in stature from the shadows of stars like flintoff and kp...
yes... i wrote this about bcci approach to test cricket a while back... but something somewhere needs to stand and sake their mindset to see test cricket also as good revenue model... maybe then they will look at its pathetic state...
thank you ankit for the link up... :)
That's certainly one way of looking at it.
thanks SB!
its getting to the level that you have to commit yourself to see the tests even when the best of talent is on display...
no ott... i am saying i would take his 175 on hyderabad any day over his 175 on patta wickets in a test match... :)
