though my last post had a title beware...your captain and coach have more powers now...
but in that i mostly concentrated on what if's of captain given power of full time selector... its only when i read this article i realised the oversight... that i have not written much on... what if coach is selector too... (some tube lights flicker for longer period before attaining full capacity)
an excerpt from the article goes like...
His (moles) position also includes being a buffer between the players and selectors. If a player is out of form, down on his luck, has personal problems or simply wants to have a good old slap at the selectors, the coach is the first person he would turn to.
The ability to do that is now significantly diminished, simply because Moles is one of the four people - along with panel incumbent Glenn Turner, former test batsman Mark Greatbatch and Vettori - who will be deciding whether that player is in the next test or ODI team, or touring party.
Will a player feel as happy about baring his soul to someone who has a direct hand on his test place?
so if i were rohit sharma or suresh raina... will i confide to kirsten about my short pitch delivery problems... knowing next tour is going to happen in south africa or australia... and without knowing who is listening to me coach kirsten or the selector kirsten...?

zigzackly!! There is a huge conflict of interest.
It would mess up the things. While practice session a Cricketer(not in good form)will plead to his coach,"please let me play bad in one more match".
yes scorpy...huge conflict...i dont know why authorities are making game more complicated...rather than making it simple...
vikas...what if the coach who gets the power is like greg chappel...?
*shudder*
Next, player will be a selector too. That's when Rohit won't be able to speak to himself.
great one NC!
he will be the first one to drop himself on tougher tours... :)
If the capt. and coach agree then its good but if it greg chappell then NIGTHMARE.
indeed cpd... :)
It is an arrangement which is perhaps designed solely for NZ cricket.
even then its highly inflammable proposition specially moles
who after losing test series said both team have won three cricket matches (including t20)... highly questionable...
