sreesanth watch: the yorkshire demolition...

shared by straight point on Friday, August 28, 2009

freesanthcontinuing his impressive form for warwickshire so far... sree took 4 wickets in 8 overs for 36 runs... reducing yorkshire to 100 for 7...

the change this time was... that he was asked to open the bowling for the first time... while till now they used him as first change bowler... maybe they wanted him to get into some kinda rhythm before asking him to open the bowling for them...

sree paid back the faith shown in him in style and if all goes fine may well get his first five-for for warwickshire... i hope he gets it... each wicket will take him closer to his ultimate goal of getting his place back in team india... which was slapped away from him...

for more detailed account of his demolition spell... log in here at BCC!...

update: as anticipated sreesanth got his first five-for with first innings figures of 15.2 3 93 5

Let he earn some agility in bowling.

his bowling skills were never in doubt vikas...it was his temperament which earned him more foes than friends...and cost him his place...

otherwise one can never convince me that ashish nehra...rp singh etc are better bowler than him...

SP,
Agree.. it's the mental aspect of his came that was questioned.. But I don't think he has answered that very satisfactorily as of now. has he?

vikas he is basically swing bowler who bowls on attacking line...and these types of bowlers do need some assistance from either pitch or conditions...

certainly not namya...

that's where this stint will help him as well us to understand where he stands... but with confidence of good form and reasonable anonymity of county cricket will help him re-discover self...

I'll hold on to my wallet just yet...the last time I backed Sree, he came startlingly unstuck.

It will do him no harm to be in the midst of professionals who aren't going to mollycoddle him for nothing.

If he returns a wiser man, good for him and good for India.

yes sb...the onus is entirely upon him whether he wants to see the show from side lines of be one of the marquee star...

but i have the feeling he will return not only a good bowler but more focused sportsman much like zaheer...
