any coach in the world who can make player like shahid afridi say...
not every ball in t20 can be hit to boundary...you have to play calculated game...
deserves a standing ovation...
its just goes to show that to get the job done you don't need glamorous name...an earnest and approachable man like alam...with whom players are not in awe of...can go to him with their problems without any apprehension...is always a best bet...no wonder afridi rose to the ranks and was deserving man of match in semi final as well as finals...armed with this refreshing approach...
from now on every team should...as one of the banner said during the match...
be afridi...very afridi...
congrats pakistan....see you at the next world cup...

It is true that Shahid Afridi played well. If he did not show his best game then Pakistan team may not be the champion of this edition of cricket game. All credit goes to Shahid Afridi. He again proves that he is the best all rounder whether it is ODI or T20. He was the central attraction of this match.
a cool welcome kamrul in hot weather... :)
yes he played like only he can but i was looking the reason for the pause he seems to have discovered and i think alam certainly has done something with afridi...
Surely SP.. Afridi maturing? can that really happen?
And why the next world cup, maybe we'll c each other in the champions trophy :-)
I differ milord.
In the first 2 matches there was enough talk going on about how Younis Khan wasn't happy with the coach and his 'jurassic' coaching techniques. Afridi may have performed in 2 matches but that doesn't make him Captain Pakistan.
Always be very afraid of too much praise. If you want proof, ask MSD..
Q...whether he is maturing or not we will have to see may be the next series with srilanka provide the clue...
i was referring to next t20 world cup... :)
namya...
maybe even players has become so accustomed of seeing coached with laptop and all those gadgets...?
though i agree that its still bit premature to talk about him as next captain...let him show bit more consistency...but this is subcontinent phenomenon...we just can't wait...no...?
SP - maybe it wae just a case of Afridi being fresh and hungry given the lack of cricket and he had enough in the tank to concentrate for 1 hour at a time for a few matches. No doubt the guy has the capacity - but stamina? He will get bored pretty quickly if there is too much cricket.
But for sure, for a guy like him, Alam was better than having some firangi guy giving "inputs" - with or without laptop. He probably hated school too for whatever time he may have been there.
naresh...
you argument that he was coming fresh and hence was concentrating more struck a chord...
but i feel someone is working on him to constantly...reminding him about his potential...and his latest statement that he was not respecting bowlers enough confirms my stance...
2 in a row for that coach right? He can stake claim for being the best out there sans the ones associated with the wretchedly talent aussies :).
Welcome change.
indeed its a welcome change scorpy...
but my tube light is still blinking on two in a row...?
