who will bell sachin...?

so MI choked again...

hardly surprising for the one who has been following them since last season...what surprising is that though MI is placed just above the team, KKR, which has been criticized virtually from every corner...yet you don’t find anybody raising finger on mumbai indians...

the reason is not rocket science...who will bell the biggest cat cricket has seen...

sachin ramesh tendulkar...

it is now clear to every team that put any score on board and make MI chase...don’t do anything but to stroll in park coz they are more than willing to dig their own grave...

they are so top heavy that they are crushing their own team...with their sheer weight...

jayasuriya is finding to his disliking that what subtle change in conditions can do to ones batting...but rather than looking to dig it out he is looking to adopt easy route...that is attack...belittling his own vast experience earned by playing international cricket since ages...and hence letting his team down which has shown so much faith in him...

sachin...his is classic example of come what may i won’t leave this coveted spot of opening the innings...while its very very clear that MI want him in middle of innings to guide lesser mortals...specially while chasing...

if the stalwarts like jaya and sachin are struggling in these conditions...one can easily imagine the plight of some inexperience bats who might be playing in such conditions for the first time...and if combating conditions is not enough challenge in itself they have added pressure to score and score fast...no wonder they are caught in two minds...hence panicking...

sachin is putting too much pressure on duminy as well as other middle order bats...when his calm and assured presence in middle will only help soothe some nerves out there...but no...no one can bell this cat...no one can make him see the obvious...no one can make him come down to middle order...even for the team cause...which is facing elimination...

my order for MI, henceforth, will be...

jayasuriya
dhawan
shah
duminy
sachin
bravo
nayyar
harbhajan
raje / zahir (if fit)
kulkarni
malinga

They did try bringing Bhajji at one down! LOL!

Its true that MI are placed 7th and just 1 position above KKR but the thing is that MI are just one victory away from being placed 4th..

They have won half their games unlike KKR and also one of the 4 teams with a +ve NRR which will def come into play when the semis come around.

I wouldn't break Sachin and Sanath.. but i agree that something needs to be done.. maybe JP at 5..

What is needed is a top-class spinner? Eh? You already have Harbhajan? There's the problem mate - you need a spinner not a dart thrower. India's #1 spinner is actually a dart thrower, and that is why the Dhonis nad Gillies are succeeding - because they have good spinners while Sachin doesnt. Yet, the turbanned man will be #1 spinner for India - what a travesty.

yes Q anybody but sachin...so even if the new kid duminy can be thirsted with the job...the one with the most experience than anybody shouldn't be touched just coz his name happens to be sachin... :)

exactly my sentiments raj...

but MI have more options than anybody in the form of duminy, jaya, sachin himself...

going by sachin thus far i think he is playing him more as a batting allrounder...than other way around ;-)

And the batting allrounder has highest score of 18, and played like a stupid daft fool yesterday. Sachin should stand up like Dhoni and say "Bhajji, enough. You are not good enough for my team".
BTW, there's Chetanya Nanda in the MI Squad. Might as well try him

homer...so atleast we agree to the extent that one of the opener should be in middle...

the only problem i have with jaya in middle is that i don't think he has the technique to hold onto in middle to carry on...he is better given the license at top while field restrictions are in place...

Sachin will prefer to sit out than not open. Or maybe he'll have a bad dream with GC in it, and who knows.

I'd like him at 3, for MI now, and in ODIs too, for the last few years, but he doesn't have ears for me.

Talk to me Sachin

Good post SP! Can you believe today will be the first time they play Delhi in the tournament?
I like the Sachin/Sanath combo but the truth is they need time before they go ballistic, otherwise all they end up doing is score close to a run a ball in the first few overs. And since that has failed as often as it has, that means they put too much pressure on the rest of the players. Its such a strong team, it would be a shame if they didn't play to potential.

nc...he has driven himself to the position on no return as far as opening goes...if he decides to not open innings for MI...ppl will expect him to do the same for team india...

GC or NC...he wont listen anybody...

thanks A...

yes they are very strong team getting punished for stubborn attitude of team management...in a format which requires flexibility...

if they can get their act together it will not only be good for them but league itself!

reg MI playing 3Ds for first time...maybe they wanted to save the best for later...? ;-)

doesnt matter where does he play SP. MI is not going to make it to the semiss. the batting is weak for MI except JP, Jaya and of course the man himself/

at least they can space them out sam...
there is no harm in trying when you are not winning anyway...?

thanks Q... :)

Q, RS

they not lost coz of jaya or sachin not opening...they lost coz of their thinking well before the match... they shuffled everything in sight...clear sign of panic creeping in...

This is not such a straight point uncle - India has Yuvi, Raina, Dhoni, Yusuf, Rohit as options for the middle order.

MI have Duminy and maybe Bravo in the same class.

Ahh - and by the way, now the Elephant has become Cat, huh? :)

naresh bete...i said in reference to not breaking opening partnership of sehwag-gambhir (which according to me should open in all forms of game)
