how insensitive we have become…

who will protect the 'protectors'...?

in lahore attack five policemen lost their lives protecting our cricket heroes…and yet we have learnt no lesson and seem to have moved on already after paying customary condolences…

think of the cop standing alone in photograph…how insensitive we can be towards him…

first he will stand for the protection of our 'beloved netas’ in the hectic scenario of general elections where every party will be counting its chickens to see if they can be in power or not…though needing them but equally oblivious of their presence...

and if that is not sufficient…before this cop can blink eye…he will be seen standing outside stadium or standing alone along side road to sanitise area under hot and relentless sun with many like him...

pakistan sacrificed them under the illusion that cricketers won’t be or rather cannot be attacked…and we are already preparing them for the same under the illusion that even if elections are in place…we can do it without any problem...

even if moving more than hundreds of players…umpires, commentators, thousand crew members… arranging for the security of not only when they will play…when they will move in and out of stadium… but every single second they will spent in our home land…

…and all this while nation will be going through its most important exercise... there is small matter of protecting ‘useless netas’ and ensuring that elections passes out without any untoward incident… thereby saving lives of another useless creature ‘aam janta’ like many of us…!

but no…we will take none of it…

we are more worried about if matches will take place outside of india...there will be less attendance in stadiums...

we are hell bent on seeing ‘city moments of success’ and ‘dlf maximum sixes’ in our homeland... even if the stakes can’t get bigger than this…!!

...as if the moment they wear cop uniform they stop being humans...

can we get more insensitive toward them than this…? do we really care about many other cops like the one above…? do we really need them to be thrown to...to expose to so much of pressure...?

does showing patriotism is as simple as making noises for useless cricket matches…closing eye to the most important thread…security…security man…?

...and if those matches won’t take place in india…we will be so ‘scared’ that we will start feeling ‘sorry’ for being an indian…

can't even laugh about it…

The most sensible write-up ever written on this issue in any media.

Take a bow SP... Too many miss the obvious.

While I am shocked at this development at the same time, felt it was required to spare a thought for the one in that photo.

thanks scorpy for sparing a moment for the cop standing alone...

You present your view well.

But what I really liked best was the sarcasm you left behind. Believe me, I was able to laugh at it.

Brilliant, SP. Thank you for bringing this up. The whole IPL thing of late has been nothing short of non-sense, Modi with this "IPL will happen"-Modi-isms.

You're right, so what if the IPL doesn't happen in India? All the better.

People matter. Yes, including that guy who stands guarding the India gate.

I just would like to introduce myself and genuine views properly and see if they agree with the opinions of straight points.

I watch the game with keen interest. My views stand against the ICL player bans as I feel it's a great advert and promotion for the development of the game and it's totally beyond unacceptable to neglect such talent regardless of the circumstances. Here I'm talking about the likes of Imran Nazir and Mohammed Yousuf who are talents that should be taken openly with both hands. On the whole it given a bad name to cricket and the governing bodies associated with it as it creates player and administrators disputes. I am a supporter of T20 cricket as it's an exciting and compelling format. But still would want cricket to be regarded as a skilful game as opposed to a lottery so support test cricket and regard that as the "proper cricket". I can see and rather support one day cricket fading away as neither the skill or intensity seems to be there as shown by the differences of the 50 over 6 + week and T20 2 week competition in 07. Yes when contrasting who had the bigger crowds and attention than there was only one clear winner.

I tend to focus on England and Pakistan cricket as well as the Indian tournaments such as ICL and IPL.I specialise in two areas in particular being spin bowling and opening the batting as I'm very knowledgeable in these areas and have had personal experiences myself. One player in particular I'm fond of is Adil Rashid whom I dedicate many threads upon as I’m fascinated with his uniqueness along with Imran Nazir and Younis Khan being my favourite batsmen. As a leg spinner I was also a big fan of Mushtaq Ahmed and Anil Kumble.I also enjoy watching past cricket tapes of greats like Waqar Younis and Imran Khan-gee that was an era of excellence. At my site I always look to open spacious room for a lively discussion and write with balanced viewpoints. You can get an insight into my opinions and analysis at my site MAZA786.

Special article indeed for heros behind the curtain.
They are the real heros.
Matches will be played, sixer and fours will be hitted, full entertainment will be there.
but in which state, or ground, does not matter.
We need safe entertainment...great thought SP

straight point said...

thanks kinka... :)

safe entertainment without putting undue pressure on security...

SP,

I have an issue.. its the picture of the same policeman who goes and beats the sh** out of some normal man.. it's the same guy who solves 2 women's murder cases in 1 by beating the sh** out of the accused, it's the same guy who helps a guy fire a gun at the bartender and forget about the bullet? My problem is that we are concentrating on too many minute things. I am fine if we scrap the IPL, which we have now for security reasons. pls don't get a delhi policeman involved in it :)

My problem is that we are concentrating on too many minute things.

so you think that talking about the security guy who is the most important factor in providing security is getting into too many minute things...? great namya...!

SP,

It is a policeman's job to protect the citizen. He is getting paid for it (however lowly it may be). I said minute because tomorrow I'll publish a photo of a child begging and say why are we playing IPL? We should think of this child first. Which is a perfectly fair argument. So its just a point of how far do we want to take the argument.
cheers
