38.6 Shoaib Malik to Jayawardene, FOUR, shot! Mahela's first boundary in 11 innings! Short outside off, waits for it to spin into him, late-cuts it well wide of point for a welcome four
imagine this happening to indian captain...
some stat that...

wow! I knew he had 4 ducks in his last 7 ODI innings.. but 1st boundary in 11 innings!? Damn that!
First off congratulations on your new identity. I just noticed.
Lankans are pacific people...they don't rip their own captains to shreds unless he is a muppet....cerytainly not to the world class variety.
Indians on the other hand demand. You could say they are afflicted by the Higher Standards bug going around or maybe they simply lack respect.
Geesh! Really? I guess I have been in hibernation for too long. Btw, I love the new look on your blog. Cheers!
Mahela's a dreamer, every now and then he goes into a daydream. He'll come around. Don't think any of the Lankans worry much. Look at Murali come in, 9 down, in any lost cause, he's always beaming.
Here, the skip wouldn't have gone on to the 11th. he would've been rested. not dropped.
yes q...its almost unbelievable!
thanks SB!
yes we can be very demanding at times...but this is quite a long streak of failure...
they are sober than us but lack of option too is help jayawardene...i guess :)
thank you very much VM!
yes NC...we have devised graceful way of 'resting' players...
i hope some of their beaming thing rubs on us too... :)
Speaking of Mahela
Today is the 10-year anniversary of the notorious ODI in Adelaide where Emerson no-balled Murali, Ranatunga walked off the field and then Jayawardene made his first ODI century after Emerson gave him not out without calling for the video replay when he was run out!
Emerson was a rubbish umpire but I think he inadvertently gave Jayawardene's career a jump-start
At least his umpiring career achieved something then
A look back http://monkeyatthecricket.blogspot.com/2009/01/rewind-1999-birth-of-jayawardene.html
thanks for the link YM...it was great read!
