sam, megha...

he is threatening to come to form since he relinquished his captaincy...lets hope eng series ends that to complete full cycle...

(he quit after eng series...)

SP!! Why would you say that?? That is just so...mean!!
Typical female fan outburst aside :D I think RD still has a couple of years to give to the team. OK, put it this way. I want to see him in the team for a couple of years at least. Cliched as it sounds, I really do think he is just one knock away from regaining his touch. And no, this is not just because I am a huge fan :) He is a sound batsman and a team player to the core. Write him off at your own peril!

lol megha... :)

if you see my past posts you will discover that i too am a big fan of dravid... and it pains me to see him reduced to pretender...

lets hope he regains his touch...

I'm interested in how Harbhajan performs now that he is a standout performer

I feel that he does better when there is more a of a burden/pressure on him. He has been a lot more successful when Kumble is not around and when there are four rather than five bowlers.

And of course, when there is controversy

Dravid will score in this series :) atleast that is what I have been thinking for the last few matches.

Dravid will fail. It will be his last test series. I gave the kiss of death to Kumble last time. Dravid has been kissed !

sam...did anybody mentioned his age? :)

yes YM...

we all looking fwd to how bhajji responds to the responsibility of being spearhead spinner...

hope he evolve both as player as well as spinner...but bhajji without antics wont be bhajji ;-)

i am hoping too RS...coz if he fails here i don't think even cheeks would be able to save him...

I badly want RD to strike form and go. Decent farewell has eluded most of the greats. I don't want RD to walk into the sunset, head hung in shame as he is pushed through the exit door for staying too long. I don't think he has any comfort zone in this Team India dressing room. The writing is clearly on the wall, for The Wall. Hope he reads it right and goes out on a high.

rd: be a cruel joke if he plays on to see his test avg slip below 50

straight point said...

his outings for quite some time is fast eroding the aura one used to associate with dravid...even if he scores runs or not that damage is already been done...

i sincerely wish he strikes form the gets the farewell befitting his stature...

straight point said...

you've put it very well G...

the last thing you want that dravid is remembered/talked as below 50 player...that will be very very criminal...

Interesting questions indeed SP.

Out of Ponting & GS, I feel it will be GS.

OUt of Wi & NZ, I think it will be NZ.

While travelling a few days back, I heard someone discussion that, earlier even when Dravid didn't score, it was difficult to get him out. Now it looks it is very easy to get him out. Guess that is the difference between the Wall & Rahul Dravid.

I REALLY LIKE YOUR QUESTIONS...

SB, Kinka

Thanks! :)

straight point said...

yes tri...the perception is changing way to fast...bowler have started to feel here comes a walking wicket...and its really pity...

and if not scoring runs was not enough he has started to drop dollies to compound problems even further for himself...

i sincerely wish he comes good in this series and bids adieu smiling...

isn't it a funny thing that everyone's been comparing yuvi and rahul, included thee...

i mean, they are as different from each other as different can be..

on another note, your blog looks all new man, is it that i have been away for too long or is it that you have made recent changes?

on yet another note, dravid should score well in the second innings of this chennai test.. india has for some time been doing well, and dravid never felt a need to play ("arre baad mein bhajji, anil aur zaheer hai na!!"), but with anil gone and india in a bad state in this match, rahul is gonna play 'that one knock' that has been ignoring him!

straight point said...

dear ankit...if you again look at question i just asked what everybody feeling about both of them...there is no comparision between both...

as for changes in my blog...i keep on doing the changes coz there is one 'keeda' in me which dont let me settle into one thing... :)

thanks for the complement though...

Ponting, Gayle, and Yuvi.. it is Yuvi's time i feel and it is the end of Dravid's.

The Windies will finally win an away series.

And Ponting will be back to his scoring best.

straight point said...

lol scorpy... :)

straight point said...

you can never be assured of windies they have this uncanny nack of snatching defeat from the jaws of sure win...but if they win this series it will be good for them...and cricket...

i am not sure about ponting...coz though he would not admit be he has to 'awrist' the fall of not only his form but his team's too...

regarding dravid...now i feel he is stubbornly and selfishly sticking to his place...if he is not quitting...its time selectors make the marching order for him...

yuvi is enigma his success and failure create equal spectacle...and if he doesn't sort out his mind and attitude towards game...he will be a failure...

Dear Damith, we have given kiss of "Death" to Mahela and Vaasy. See post Indian ODI series in Emerald Isle, the skipper failed in batting and Vaas was thrown out of the team :)

Some returns for kisses to Dravid and Ak u see :)

No offense meantt

SP, if he is not "old" or "aged" then why suggestions for retirement ?

if not then let him go to the domestic cricket n get back ;P

straight point said...

sam...if he has it in him then why not...but if we count domestic performance then even by that standard he is way behind in that queue... :)
