india...you beauty...

congratulations india!!

in this match...

god gets past 12000 runs...

off-side god gets past 7000 runs and scores a century...

a debutant takes 5-for in first innings...

an opener shrugs off his 70s dilemma...gets past 100 mark...

and finally

dhoni 'the' captain leads india to the biggest test victory....
against arguably the biggest team in world...
fittingly gets MoM

no wonder he is flying...high...

if this is not...
i would like to see a perfect match than this...

brings me to question...

who writes...dhoni's script...?

more woweee SB!!

now we have to guard against our old nemesis complacency...that creeps in after a resounding win...

cheers!!

Soulberry said...

take a new "guard" then....to avoid complacency. :) (whistle whistle ...I didn't say anything about change of guard whistle )

Fact is the newbies have smartened up the oldies as well...

Good stuff - but Dhoni wasnt a debutant captain, SP. He did lead us to victory against South Africa in Kanpur in Kumble's absence. Doesn't in any way change the achievement tho...

thanks sfx!!

i have corrected the mistake...may got carried away a bit...

That's true Sfx. Yes, it kind of slipped from my mind as well.

SB!!

your take on new skin?

so what now going forward LOL.... you have a keeper who performs only when he is in charge. A good leg spinner will have to be kept on ice for a while.

SP,

you forgot 2 birthdays and a birth during the course of the match..

So, basically a party a day during the course of the Test!

Maybe there is some truth to "a happy team is a winning team".. or vice versa :)

Cheers,

Amazing win!!!

Next worry is abt Kumble's fitness.. If he becomes fit???

Anonymous said...

It was a good team effort it wasn't only Dhoni. But somehow most of us knew that whenever he will be given the job he will do it perfectly.

No disrespect to Kumble he has served his country well in the past and might also do it in future but right now he is unfit and out of form, I think Dhoni should Lead India in the rest of the matches.

am not complaining a bit scorpy...as far as dhoni goes... :)

fit and form issues cant be separated...and kumble is no exception here...

straight point said...

let every cricketer write his own script. and we'll have a team with XI cricketers. and if while playing cricket they became stars, so be it.

straight point said...

yes gaurav...being stars is no problem at all...but problem STARts when they forget for what they are stars actually...

No offence mate, but I think this is where most of you guys go wrong. Calling your cricketers "gods".

You may not be one of them, but the very same people who call them gods and worship them, don't think twice before burning their effgies and houses the moment they turn up with a couple of bad digs.

It's pathetic to see. And I really do feel for the players. There the the likes of Sachin who is one of the greatest in the history of game, but if not for that pressure he would have done even better.

Cricketer should neither be worshipped nor stoned. It's just a game, enjoy it and leave it at that.

There are some very unfortunate sights there.

Again, no offence mate.

On the other hand, about the game, it sure is one of the best team performance by India - and enyone else, for that matter - in recent times. And I've never seen Aussies being so thoroughly dominated throught five days recently.

Well done India.

i always welcome alternate opinions sachintha...so no offence meant not taken as well :)

i fully concur with you about the populist mentality that one day asks us to label same player gods while at the same time burning effigy of them...

and in this contrast lives most of india as logic is never the first thing in mind of common cricket fan...

at the end of day, as you have very rightly said, its jst a game played by sports persons and not 'gods'...

a warm welcome to you and hope you will keep dropping by...
