first of all let me thank uncle for including me in his final x1 as a young-angry-man...sorry mr bachchan, this title belongs to me now...
its indeed an honor uncle!!
now enough of pleasantries...back to business...
uncle made very valid point today in comments that even against club standard bowling yuvi (and Sehwag) could not score...and failed...
although i was more disappointed with sehwag coz he looked his usual good till he was out in the way he gets out...although must add that catch was just superb and on his day the ball would have went flying past slips to third man boundary...
but on second thought i got going for yuvi...
what happened to him?
in not so distant past he could not do anything wrong...till recent he was proclaimed to be in the form of his life...yours truly put a strong case of including him in final x1...and got my wish too...
but i don't know what has changed so much in this short period...
you cant blame pitches for sure...mcg and scg pitches were more like subcontinent pitches...with different address...
so what happened??
he looks all out of sorts...the way he is fielding...they way he is carrying himself on the field...i will ask deepika if he is different off field too but till then...
he seems disinterested...the intensity is simply not there...the sense of responsibility that the whole balance of the team was shifted to accommodate him...the focus...the purpose in batting...nothing seems to come to fore...why the same blade which used to send the ball out of park at will...has transformed into one which struggles to even touch the ball as if it will explode...
i am particularly worried coz when the fab four will retire in not so distant future...he is one of the guy who is supposed to be the core of team...
is he oblivious to this fact...or he simply don't want to take responsibility...or he can take us this far only with all his talent and abilities...was the confidence shown in his abilities was misplaced...is all investments made on him by india will yield only this much or there is twist in the tale...
any answers??

Saving Private Yuvi - only Deepika can save him.
Even her former boyfriend - Dhoni-is out of sorts.
by this count deepika is the 'charming luck'...behind all this..
but seriously...what you think is the real problem??
It's rather mysterious how Yuvi seems to have lost what was called the "form of his life". However, I have a feeling it has something to do with technique required in Aussie pitches.
Nice blog you have there straight points. Adding you to my blogroll.
@Ottayan, Deepika was the first thing that came to mind when I read this post! :)
i guess down fall of yuvi has started as soon as Deepika arrived...dhoni is smart ot get away......lol
we need to start the rotaation now b4 its too late....fab4 aint surviving for too long.......
Unfortunate, but for some reason or the other Yuvraj isn't being given the chance of playing one season of longer version at least so he could be a good test player.
Whether it is he who chooses to, I don't know and don't think that's possible...but that Sehwag catch was a stunner...
hey VM
welcome mate...let me return the favor by doing same...
as i said that pitches were more like subcontinent so i think the problem is more in attitude, approach to the game...
i fully agree with you KP but based on current form i don't think anybody is coming any near to dislodge fab 4 in tests atleast...
yuvi had the chance and i squandered it magnificently...
SB
agree with you on yuvi should have played more 4 or five day first class matches...
but that is no excuse for his laxities shown in field...
During the time when he was sitting out with his leg injury, he had worked on certain weakness on his game, i.e on his slanted, cutting batting approach. He made a decision to consciously play straight and that helped him to the form of his life over the next few months. Looking at him now, he is back to his old style and therefore the failures against good attacks... he should once again look to play straight... there is too much of cutting and flowing chops early on which is costing him... all will be well if he goes back to his earlier lessons and consciously play straight.
Scorpi...test matches aren't the place to do what one should have done by now elsewhere...certainly not Australia of all countries.
My biggest fear is we may have lost our best one-day player of the past few years in all this, and there are plenty of them coming up later....
Out of the field, evven Dee-pik-a can save him, but in the field he has to pik-a-ball for deep for save himself.
Time will come and he will return with the bat soon.
Lets hope for the best......PAN
hey scorpy...
welcome...i thought you went in hibernation...
you have come very close to cracking it...very good observation...there are certain things which dont changes with pitches and conditions and playing in V early in innings is one of them...
bt what a loss of form he can now score even against club level bowlers and failed in both innings...
SB
i share every bit of your concern...we may have lost our best bat of ODIs...
i think more than anything he requires some break...it will do him good and will take his mind away from pressure of playing cricket for a while...which is not always bad...specially after his twin failures against club level bowling...
SA
frankly your dee-pik-a was beyond me...
we all want to him to do well...but somehow he just don't inspire any confidence as of now....
may be a break will do him world of good...
Soulberry, SP... it is a matter of concern and he is India's best bat in the shorter formats... but typically when someone starts doing well, old habits creep up... it is up to him now to introspect on.
very true...
like what sehwag did today i guess...he said that he just wanted to be there for a session and concentrated just on that...nothing more...and strokes started to flow...
